Undergraduate student Nam Vo receives Manson A. Steward Award

Nam Vo, a third-year undergraduate studying classics and physics, won the Manson A. Steward Award from the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS). Given to sophomore- or junior-level undergraduate students, recipients of the award have shown achievement and potential in classical studies over the course of the academic year.

When deciding which major to pick, Vo asked himself “why not both?” deciding that if it was too much he would choose one of the two. But now, in his third year, he is still pursuing and enjoying both.

He chose physics to “study and describe nature in a systematic way” and classics because Latin and Greek piqued his interest and he felt “passionate about studying the world of antiquity”.

“This award is an encouragement for me to continue pursuing classics,” Vo said.
