Setting expectations, modeling good behavior and establishing classroom norms contribute to the creation of a safe learning environment. At the next University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education session, Nicole Deming, assistant dean of faculty affairs at the School of Medicine, will present “Setting Norming Behavior in the Classroom.”
She will review some non-negotiables for the classroom and discuss strategies that faculty can use to deal with issues that develop during the semester. Attendees also will discuss methods to improve their students’ ability to exchange ideas with peers in classroom discussions.
This session will be held Thursday, Sept. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Allen Memorial Medical Library’s Herrick Room.
Pizza and sodas will be provided. RSVP to ucite@case.edu.
