UCITE offers two Spoken English seminars over the summer

The Spoken English Programs, through University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education (UCITE), will again offer two seminars over the summer: Communication and Culture as well as Advanced Fluency. These seminars will be free and open to all students.

About the Culture and Communication seminar

The Culture and Communication seminar will meet Fridays from 3 to 4 p.m. starting June 15.

In this six-week seminar, students will have the opportunity to discuss American culture and other cultures. Topics may include food and restaurant culture, idioms and slang, networking, holidays, and Cleveland or U.S. travel.

This is an interactive and lighthearted seminar open to all international students as well as research scholars and post-docs. Students will learn about culture and improve their English conversation and discussion skills.

About the Advanced Fluency seminar

The Seminar in Advanced Fluency will meet Fridays from 2 to 2:50 p.m. starting June 22.

In this seminar, students will learn tips for enhancing their spoken English by focusing on advanced fluency and pronunciation skills. This is a three-week seminar.
