Each Friday, the University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education (UCITE) offers instructors at Case Western Reserve University opportunities to gather in an interdisciplinary space for conversations of pedagogical discovery and for the exchange of ideas. This week’s topic will be “When and How? Assessing Student Writing in the Age of AI.” It will be held Friday, Oct. 18, from 11:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Allen Memorial Medical Building’s Herrick Room.
Martha Schaffer, instructor and associate director of composition, will explore academic writing assignments and assessments in the age of generative artificial intelligence technology. Participants are encouraged to share assignments and assessment ideas that have been received well by students.
