UCITE encourages faculty to participate in educational development opportunities next month

The University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education has two educational development opportunities in August open to faculty. Both opportunities will be on the Case Western Reserve University campus.

Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities Summer Institute

The Case School of Engineering will host the Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities (SENCER) Summer Institute on campus Aug. 1–4. Visit the SENCER Summer Institute website for additional information.

Those with additional questions about the program can contact Kurt Rhoads at krr38@case.edu and Lynn Rollins at lynn.rollins@case.edu.

Mobile Summer Institute

The National Science Foundation-sponsored Mobile Summer Institute will be offered Aug. 5–9. The event is institution-based iteration of the successful National Academies Summer Institute on Scientific Teaching.

Participants will develop original, innovative classroom materials ready for immediate implementation and will become part of an ongoing learning community of CWRU STEM faculty, graduate students and postdocs dedicated to improving student learning outcomes and supporting their fellow faculty members.

The event is free and meals will be provided.

Visit the UCITE website for additional information.
