The Connor Integrative Medicine Network with host two four-week hatha yoga series in July. The classes are offered to Case Western Reserve University employees at a discounted rate.
The first hatha yoga course, held Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. from July 10–31, focuses on building strength and flexibility through a variety of yoga poses. Breathing and meditative practices are included to help the body and mind relax. This class is more physically challenging than the gentle hatha yoga class, although modifications of poses will be presented to address health conditions.
The other course, gentle hatha yoga, will be held Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. July 12–Aug. 2. This class incorporates breathing and meditative practices, along with standing, seated (on the floor) and reclining poses. The pace allows for cultivating body and breath awareness while slowing down and relaxing. Poses will be modified to accommodate health conditions and injuries.
All classes will be held on the sixth floor of the Bolwell Health Center Building. Each participant should bring a mat and dress comfortably.
Additional courses will be held in August.
Each four-week series is $40 for Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Case Medical Center employees and volunteers. The series is open to the public for $60. Call 767.8435 to register.
