Entrepreneurs associated with CWRU win first, second place at PITCH U entrepreneurial competition

Entrepreneurs associated with Case Western Reserve University won first- and second-place at PITCH U, the Burton D. Morgan Foundation’s elevator pitch competition for students and recent alums of northeast Ohio colleges and universities, conducted in conjunction with the Youngstown Business Incubator.

The $4,500 first prize was awarded to alumnus and current graduate research assistant Kihwan Kim, founder of CF Tech, who is developing an early diagnostic for cystic fibrosis.

Second place, and $1,000, went to alumnus Silas Ifeanyi, founder of Hypotech, which is developing a wearable monitoring solution for diabetic patients going through hypoglycemia.

This was the fourth year of the competition.
