For Monday’s trivia question, we asked which of these four events from CWRU history did not happen in March:
- The School of Business (later Weatherhead School of Management) was established
- One to One Fitness Center began offering full services to campus
- The original North Residential Village dormitories were dedicated
- The second U.S. woman to earn a medical degree graduated from Western Reserve College
The correct answer was “One to One Fitness Center began offering full services to campus”—this happened Nov. 28, 1988.
All three of the other events occurred in March. The School of Business was established March 6, 1952; the original North Residential Village (NRV) dormitories were dedicated March 7, 1965; and Western Reserve College’s Nancy Talbot Clark became the second U.S. woman to earn a regular medical degree March 3, 1852.
Participants were thwarted by this week’s question, with more than 80 percent of respondents choosing either the answer about the NRV dormitories or Talbot Clark. Just four people spotted the correct answer—and the only event listed that did not happen in March.
