Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to join the LGBT Center for “Trans Allyship Training 101” Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center first-floor conference room.
This workshop will go in depth on the topics of transgender identity and allyship. Specifically, this presentation will:
- Cover the differences between sex, gender, and sexuality;
- Provide an in-depth discussion of what it means to be transgender and what transition can look like;
- Bust common myths and misconceptions about trans adults and trans children;
- Offer an overview of the issues faced by transgender people; and
- Suggest practical ways to be a trans-inclusive ally.
