Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to join the LGBT Center for Trans Allyship Training 101 Thursday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the second-floor conference room at the Tinkham Veale University Center.
This workshop goes in depth on the topics of transgender identity and allyship. Specifically, this presentation will cover:
- The differences between sex, gender and sexuality;
- An in-depth discussion of what it means to be transgender and what transition can look like;
- Myths and common misconceptions about trans adults and trans children;
- An overview of the issues faced by transgender people; and
- Practical ways to be a trans-inclusive ally.
