The LGBT Center invites members of the Case Western Reserve University community to participate in a “Trans Allyship 101” workshop Wednesday, Jan. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center first-floor conference room.
This workshop goes in depth on the topics of transgender identity and allyship. Specifically, this presentation will cover:
- The differences between sex, gender and sexuality;
- An in-depth discussion of what it means to be transgender and what transition can look like;
- Myth-busting common misconceptions about trans adults and children;
- An overview of the issues faced by transgender people; and
- Practical ways to be a trans-inclusive ally.
