Training for survey administrator volunteer opportunities

Interested in gaining hands-on experience with data collection and working in the greater Cleveland community? The Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (PRCHN) is looking for volunteer survey administrators to assist with the collection of Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) data in high schools in Cuyahoga County during the fall 2019 semester.

A training for those interested will be held Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to noon at the BioEnterprise Building in the PRCHN Conference Room (fourth floor).

Volunteer commitments are flexible; once trained, administrators can immediately sign up for whichever scheduled survey days and times fit their schedules. Volunteers are eligible for $10 Target gift cards for each assisted class period.

RSVP for the training.

Those with questions can contact Catherine Osborn at cco14@case.edu.

About the YRBS

The goal of the Cuyahoga County YRBS (CC-YRBS) is to monitor and track the risk behaviors of local youth so as to inform, evaluate and identify emerging needs for health programming and policy. The CC-YRBS is a survey used to track adolescent risk behavior over time. It is tailored to fit local needs and consists of questions on a variety of topics, including bullying, alcohol and other drug use, weight and nutrition, and protective behaviors.

The YRBS is being conducted in high schools throughout Cuyahoga County in the fall semester of 2019.
