The Cuyahoga County Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) results have provided rich information about local youth’s health and risk experiences. Over time, researchers have observed differences in rates of some risk behaviors when examined by race/ethnicity and gender.
The Schubert Center for Child Studies and Master of Public Health program in the School of Medicine will co-sponsor a discussion titled “Topics in Social Justice and Public Health: Youth Risk Behavior Survey” Oct. 18 from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.
Jean Frank, director of adolescent surveillance and evaluation at the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods, and Zulayka Ruiz, director of programs for Esperanza Inc., will describe the YRBS process from survey administration to results discovery, including collaboration with community organizations that serve adolescents.
