Topics in Social Justice and Public Health—“Questions of Faith: Suicidality among Sexual Minority Adolescents and Young Adults”

The Schubert Center for Child Studies and Master of Public Health program will collaborate to offer a Community Health Research and Practice (CHRP) session to discuss suicidality in LGBTQ+ adolescents and young adults.

This seminar will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Susan De Luca (she/her/hers), associate professor of psychiatry and a faculty member affiliated with the Center for Reducing Health Disparities, will focus on how religion relates to suicidal ideation and attempts in young people within the LGBTQ+ community.

Braveheart Gillani (he/him/his), a PhD student at the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Social Sciences and a member of the Board of Directors at the LGBT Community Center, will join De Luca.

The LGBT Community Center of Greater Cleveland is a community partner for this event.
