Think[box]’s Ian Charnas is startled by the speed of innovation in the manufacturing of personal protective equipment

CWRU, Local Manufacturers Practice ‘Fierce Cooperation’ On PPE Project

WCPN- Ideastream: Ian Charnas, the director of innovation and technology at Sears think[box], talked about being a part of efforts to design and manufacture personal protective equipment (PPE), such as clear face shields that can protect healthcare workers, using machines and capabilities present at the university’s innovation space: “Where normally there would be legal discussions and intellectual property discussions, we’re getting the green light to move faster than ever before. So fast, that we were able to go from an idea to mass manufacture-able design in six days. This normally takes years.”
