“The War on Drugs is a War on Us: How Criminalization Targets Disenfranchised Communities”

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Learning Group based in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences will host its next session today (April 17) from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Wolstein Research Building, Room 3-136. A virtual option also is available.

The research group gathers to share and discuss articles, current events and personal and professional experiences relevant to diversity, equity and inclusion. One of the goals of the group is for attendees to walk away with knowledge that is actionable, helping researchers include diverse perspectives in their works and build new collaborations and networks. The group is a safe space for anyone who wants to expand their knowledge and skills related to diversity, equity and inclusion. It is open to those who are new to these topics in research and those already working in this space.

Today’s session will address the topic of “The War on Drugs is a War on Us: How Criminalization Targets Disenfranchised Communities.” Jacob James Rich, a PhD student at the School of Medicine, will lead the next group.

Those who would like to attend virtually should email Rebecca Miller at rdm124@case.edu to be added to the calendar invite and receive the Zoom link.
