“The Lines Between Us: A Dialogue about Fair Housing, Segregation and Social Disparities”

The Social Justice Institute will host a discussion titled “The Lines Between Us: A Dialogue about Fair Housing, Segregation and Social Disparities” with journalist Lawrence Lanahan Thursday, Nov. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., in Clark Hall, Room 207.

Lanahan’s book, The Lines Between Us: Two Families and a Quest to Cross Baltimore’s Racial Divide, chronicles the segregation and economic inequalities of Baltimore and the strategies activists, community leaders, attorneys and politicians are employing to change them.

After Lanahan’s presentation, speakers will reflect on the broad themes introduced in the book and compare them with the critical work happening here in Cleveland. Event speakers will be:

  • Jonathan Entin, the David L. Brennan Professor Emeritus of Law and adjunct professor of political science; and
  • Megan E. Hatch, associate professor at the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University.

This event is free and open to the community.

The Social Justice Institute and the Fair Housing Center for Rights & Research will co-sponsor.

Reservation to this event is requested. RSVP to socialjustice@case.edu.
