As the semester winds down, things are gearing up at The Daily. Today, we introduce a refreshed design for both the email newsletter and website that are more versatile and reader friendly to provide users improved functionality and increased interaction.
Like the new visit site unveiled this summer, the updated Daily website uses responsive design. This approach means the site responds to the device on which it’s viewed—providing full functionality whether readers use a desktop, mobile or tablet device.
While we moved the site’s design to the 21st century, we made a few other small tweaks as well. We added links to related stories, a list of most popular entries (based on user comments) and prominent positioning for the most recent posts. News is always happening, so bookmark thedaily.case.edu and check back regularly for the latest updates.
You also may notice changes to the email newsletter—namely a more streamlined design. We still provide concise headlines, divided into categories that allow the newsletter to serve as a quick digest of news.
The world of the web is ever changing. Our goal is to make each of our revisions an improvement. The electronic newsletter now known as the daily dates back six years. Nearly a year and a half ago we took The Daily from a newsletter-only format to one with a robust website. And now, based in part on your comments, we’ve adapted again.
If you have questions, suggestions or observations about our new look, please email case-daily@case.edu or post a comment in the section below. We look forward to hearing from you.
