The Complete Beethoven Sonatas for Piano and Violin Series performance

The Milton and Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center at The Temple–Tifereth Israel will host a series of performances by James Ehnes on violin and Andrew Armstrong on piano in honor of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday.

Concerts in The Complete Beethoven Sonatas for Piano and Violin Series will feature 10 works that are considered cornerstones of the chamber-music repertoire and to tell the story of Beethoven’s unique artistic evolution.

The first performance is today (Sept. 17) from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Ehnes Sonata and Armstrong will perform No.1 in D major, Op. 12, No. 1; Sonata No. 2 in A major, Op. 12, No. 2; Sonata No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 12, No. 2; and Sonata No. 4 in A-minor, Op. 23.

Daniel Hathaway will five a pre-concert lecture.

Tickets are $5 for students, $30 for seniors and $35 for all others.
