The Beat UPTOWN, a series of free public activities hosted at Toby’s Plaza in Uptown, presents Fire and Ice on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. It’s a celebration of winter with fun and creative uses of fire and ice, featuring ice-carving demonstrations, ice painting and ice bowling with The Corner Alley.

While embracing winter, enjoy a cup of hot cider and popcorn and warm up by a fire pit or move indoors to MOCA for warmth and music spun by a DJ. Fire and Ice is free and open to the public and will be staged regardless of weather conditions.

Uptown, Cleveland’s emerging arts and entertainment district near Case Western Reserve University, is at the corner of Mayfield Road and Euclid Avenue. Reduced event parking is available in designated Uptown lots.

The Beat UPTOWN is a collaborative effort by Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Foundation, Toby Devan Lewis, MOCA Cleveland, Cleveland Institute of Art and MRN Ltd.
