Thank you for your support for the earthquake victims in Nepal

NAOO (Nepali American Organization of Ohio) and Case Nepali Student Organization (CNSO) would like to thank UTech and CWRU community for the overwhelming support after the massive earthquake in Nepal in April 2015. All the donation money has reached to the people in need without administrative overhead and got utilized for both emergency relief efforts and rebuilding projects. One of NAOO ExCom members was actually there on the ground during the relief effort. All the fundraising activities and financials are reported at NAOO Website (NAOO.org) for your review.

During the emergency relief effort, we experienced the alarming dependency in people as a result of mushrooming NGOs and INGOs. This is the real issue in developing nations like Nepal that has become the huge obstacle to overcome. So, I felt the need to start a self-sustainable projects for long term rehabilitation and self-reliance. We started a small pilot project “Self-Sustainable Upper Dolpa” with about $1300.00 collected through NAOO fundraising event. After its success, I thought of doing fundraising on the larger scale. We estimated about $12,000.00 for the project for which I created a fundraising page via YouCaring (https://www.youcaring.com/upperdolpa-718946) with a story. This looks like a small amount but in shuch remote areas, which is about 3-4 days of walk besides a couple of days of bus trip from the capital, Kathmandu, it is sufficient. So, the picture is really grim in developing nations beyond the imagination of people living in the prosperous countries. I have tried to portray such grim pictures through series of my published newspaper articles included in the WordPress Blog Post (https://gajurelorg.wordpress.com/).

NAOO, as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, can issue a receipt that can be used for tax credit.

I would appreciate all of your help in promoting this fundraising for noble cause. This is an one time fundraising event after which the project gets self-sustained.
