Technical standards are recognized as essential for industry and creating opportunities for students to become competent in the use of standards is a high priority of programs everywhere, including the Case School of Engineering.
The Case School of Engineering and Kelvin Smith Library will host a Technical Standards Workshop Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 2:45 to 6:30 p.m. in Nord Hall, Room 356.
This workshop aims to increase standards awareness by bringing together representatives from standards developing organizations. The representatives will introduce their organizations and standardization process, as well as highlight the impact of standards on the design, safety and development of a product. The workshop includes three sessions each focusing on a specific topic:
- Role of Standards in Product Design and Global Economy;
- Fire Standards; and
- Standards for Information Technology.
