For the first time, actors are taking the stage in the new Roe Green Theatre, part of the Phase II expansion of the university’s Maltz Performing Arts Center. The space, unveiled last month, offers unique opportunities for performing artists at Case Western Reserve University to shape their crafts, from costume and scene shops to rehearsal spaces and more.
The first production to take to the new stage is Arcadia, a Tony-, Olivier- and Drama Desk-winning comedy written by Tom Stoppard. Directed by Professor Jerrold Scott, the production features faculty member Christopher Bohan as Bernard, alumna Katie O. Solomon as Hannah, double-alum TJ Gainley as Septimus and alumna Natalie El Dabh as Lady Croom in addition to several student roles.
Three performances remain:
- Friday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 14, at 3 p.m.
