The Graduate Student Council Activities Committee and Case Western Reserve University Police Department will offer self-defense courses throughout the semester. The classes are held every Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center Wrestling Room through Dec. 2.
There is a fee of $50 per month to participate in the course. There are two remaining months—October and November.
The first session is free for those who would like to try it out. After that, participants who join in the middle of the month can attend two sessions for $10 each. Participants can then decide if they would like to complete the monthly course.
In order to get the full benefit of the classes, one must maintain some degree of continuity, so weekly attendance is strongly encouraged.
Those interested in participating can contact Amita Vaidya at amv74@case.edu to learn more about how to get involved.
