Take in the entertainment during homecoming events

If you’re looking to jump right into the action during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, there are plenty of events just for you.

Take a look at some of the entertaining events throughout the weekend:

Thursday, Oct. 13

Help kick off the festivities at the Blue Block Party with food, music and more, Thursday, Oct. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 14

Join Kelvin Smith Library for its 20th anniversary celebration from noon to 4 p.m. for an event centered on gaming. Hear from featured speaker Philip Orbanes, play a variety of games, enjoy refreshments, win prizes and take tours of the library at the event. Orbanes (CIT ’70), former vice president of Parker Brothers and founder of Winning Moves Games Inc., will give a presentation titled “Innovating a Career in Games” from 2 to 3:40 p.m. A light reception will follow.

From juggling to a cappella performances, attend Showcase of Stars from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom to see the CWRU community’s talents.

Saturday, Oct. 15

Take in the spectacle of the homecoming parade from the Linsalata Alumni Center front lawn from 10 to 11:30 a.m. At the Homecoming Parade Watch Party, you’ll have a prime spot to see all parade participants as they pause for the judging table.

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a radio station? Now’s your chance to find out. Attend “Live From Studio A” from noon to 1 p.m. in the Mather Memorial Building to tour WRUW, the campus radio station, and hear about the music scene in Cleveland.

Network with alumni at “Meet Up at Uptown” from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Corner Alley Uptown.
