Led by trained yoga instructor Katie Nabors, Covenant Student Ministries offers Restoration Yoga. This weekly opportunity gives students the chance to pause from the business of life and take time to breathe and stretch to connect mind, body and spirit.
The pressure on students can lead to burnout, which sabotages personal health and well-being. Emotional balance can make it possible to be aware of and manage emotions, as well as to have a realistic and positive personal view, view of others and understanding of circumstances. Restoration Yoga will be held Fridays at 4 p.m., beginning today (Feb. 18) in the Connection Center at the Church of the Covenant.
The implementation of a regular and mindful breathing practice can slow down the mind and tap into forgiveness, gratefulness, compassion, kindness and open-mindedness. The Friday yoga sessions are open to all students, staff and faculty of any or no faith tradition.
