The University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education (UCITE) will continue its First Fridays series Friday, Feb. 4, with a workshop titled “Syllabus Ideas to Engage Students.” This event will be held from 11:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Allen Memorial Medical Library’s Herrick Room.
The course syllabus is a standard part of courses at CWRU, and yet its potential as an effective teaching tool is not always realized.
Jenny Hadingham, assistant director of UCITE, will explore ideas from recent research in the scholarship of teaching and learning around the topic of developing, communicating and actively using the syllabus as a tool for advancing student learning.
Those who plan to attend should email ucite@case.edu. Pizza and soda will be provided.
