The University Technology’s ([U]Tech) Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) team will offer four remote delivery workshops to help faculty members prepare for teaching in the January term and/or spring semester. These workshops will be recorded and made available on the faculty training opportunities website.
Faculty members are invited to a workshop titled “Communication and Community in Flexible Course Design” today at 10 a.m. View the TLT training calendar to get the Zoom information.
The team also will continue to offer drop-in hours and appointments through the TLT training calendar and provide faculty members with resources to “teach everywhere.”
Drop-in hours and appointments
TLT is also offering various training and support opportunities for common technologies like Canvas, Echo360 and Zoom, as well as discussions focused on pedagogy and teaching strategies. All appointments and drop-ins are held virtually; details can be found on the TLT training calendar.
Canvas, Echo360 and Zoom
Drop-in hours are available with Blair Carmichael, instructional technologist, for one-on-one help with questions about Canvas, Echo360 and Zoom. Drop-in hours with Carmichael are available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m.
iPads
Additionally, instructors borrowing iPads from CWRU for use in teaching are encouraged to join drop-in hours on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to noon to try out or troubleshoot iPad features that they plan to use in their classes.
Remote testing
Faculty members can request an appointment to talk through their remote testing strategy and any questions they may have about secure testing tools. Appointments are available Wednesdays from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
Pedagogy and course design appointments
Appointments are available Wedensdays from 8 to 9:30 a.m. for faculty members to ask questions about assessments, pedagogical strategies and course design.
