Swagelok Center for Surface Analysis of Materials seminar

Members of the campus community interested in materials analysis are invited to learn more at a seminar hosted by the Swagelok Center for Surface Analysis of Materials Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. in Olin Building, Room 408.

The event features Katherine Rice, an applications scientist with Cameca Instruments in Madison, Wisconsin, who will cover atom probe tomograph (APT).

APT is the highest spatial resolution analytical characterization technique with high-efficiency single atom detection for quantitative atomic scale 3-D elemental mapping of chemical heterogeneities.

This hour-long program will include topics like APT operational theory, APT sample preparation, data reconstruction and different applications for the technique. A period for discussion will follow the formal program.

Attendance is free but space is limited. To register, email Amir Avishai at axa189@case.edu by Sept. 9 with “LEAP Seminar” in the subject line.
