“Supporting Special Needs Youth through Advocacy and Imagination”

Join the Schubert Center for Child Studies to explore two unique initiatives, the Madvocator Educational and Healthcare Advocacy Training and the Superhero Project, that support youth with special needs and their families in the Cleveland community and beyond.

“Supporting Special Needs Youth through Advocacy & Imagination” will take place Tuesday, Jan. 25, at noon via Zoom. Access the Zoom link.

Nikki (Charisse) Montgomery, executive director of Madvocator Educational and Healthcare Advocacy Training, will discuss how her work improves equity, inclusion and the quality of family engagement by providing evidence-based training programs for education and medical professionals and advocacy skills training for families.

The Superhero Project is an initiative that uses creative thinking and the arts to empower youth with serious illnesses and special needs. Founder and Executive Director Lisa Kollins will share how the nonprofit is similarly guided by core values of inclusion and representation, along with imagination and joy, to support families. Questions will be welcome during this interactive presentation.
