The Case Nepali Student Organization (CNSO) will host a picnic fundraiser Saturday, June 6, to support people affected by two devastating earthquakes that struck Nepal on April 25 and May 12.
The earthquakes claimed the lives of more than 8,000 and have injured an additional 17,000 people, caused extensive property damage—impacting 600,000 homes—and affected the lives of more than 8 million people.
The fundraising event, sponsored by Graduate Student Council, will be held at Forest Picnic Area at the North Chagrin Reservation (3037 SOM Center Road, Willoughby Hills, OH 44094). The event is free, including food, activities and sports. RSVP online by June 3.
Donations and proceeds from the sale of handmade jewelry, T-shirts and crafts will support relief efforts.
Those who are unable to attend the picnic fundraiser but would still like to donate, can do so online at case.edu/forwardthinking/ by selecting “Make a Gift.” On the gift page, choose “I would like to give to a specific school or area at CWRU” and scroll down to “Other.” In the “Special Instructions” box, enter “CNSO/Nepal Earthquake Fundraiser.”
Donations also can be made via check. Make the check payable to: Case Western Reserve University, with memo “CNSO/Nepal Earthquake Fundraiser” and mail it to:
