Sunrise CWRU Climate Action Week 2022 training

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to join Sunrise CWRU for a political education and organizing skills training on Sunday, March 20. The training will feature modules throughout the day on the politics of the climate crisis, building a movement that can win, and key organizing skills. 

Participants can choose which sessions they would like to attend. The training schedule is as follows:

  1. 10-10:40 a.m.: “What’s the Problem: Fossil fuel billionaires are destroying our future”
  2. 10:45-11:10 a.m.: “What We’re Fighting For: Why we need a Green New Deal”
  3. 11:15–11:50 a.m.: “The People’s Alignment: How we make necessary government action common sense”
  4. 11:55 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: “Collective Liberation: Climate action requires dismantling systems of oppression”
  5. 2 to 2:45 p.m.: “Public Narrative: Using our values and stories to inspire collective action”
  6. 2:50 to 4:05 p.m.: “Action Planning: How to plan and execute a powerful direct action”
  7. 4:10 to 5 p.m.: “Relational Organizing: Growing our power by talking to our communities”
