Earlier this year, Garrett Dunlap (CWR ‘16) and Neetu Gulati were selected to represent Case Western Reserve University at the American Association For the Advancement of Science Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering workshop.
Dunlap majored in biology and minored in political science. Gulati is a PhD student in the Department of Pharmacology.
On the final day at the workshop, they met with congressional members and staff.
“It was an incredible experience where I got a good understanding of the topics of the budget and appropriations with respect to science, as well as effectively communicating science to politicians and lay persons-alike,” Dunlap said.
