Student urban biking lunch and workshop

The Case Western Reserve University Energy and Sustainability Office will partner with Bike Cleveland to offer a beginner’s bike education course and bike ride Saturday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Residence Hall Multipurpose Room.

Bike Cleveland will start the event with class and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon. During the educational session, attendees will get answers to their questions to help them feel more confident while riding on the road.

After the class, all attendees are encouraged to participate in an optional, community bike ride led by Bike Cleveland, departing from and returning to the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Residence Hall. The bike ride will be from about noon to 1 p.m.

To participate in the bike ride, individuals must attend the education session at 11 a.m. Bike helmets are required. All bike ride participants will receive a bike light set, including a headlamp and rear flasher.

Attendees should bring their bikes to the residence hall area prior to the lunch so riders can depart quickly after the education session. Bike racks are available around the residence hall.

Both UH Bikes and helmets will be available to rent or borrow. Those who need either should indicate it when registering.

RSVP through Eventbrite.

Those planning to bring a group of five or more should email sustainability@case.edu to register.
