Stephanie Tubbs Jones

Stephanie Tubbs Jones Award recognizes underrepresented, undergraduate CWRU students; apply or nominate a student now

The Office of Student Activities & Leadership is accepting applications for the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Award. Created in 2010, the Stephanie Tubbs-Jones Award recognizes an underrepresented undergraduate Case Western Reserve University student for significant contributions to campus life, scholarship and community service. These three characteristics were best demonstrated by Tubbs-Jones, a CWRU alumna who was actively involved in campus life and the nearby community.

In 1998, Tubbs-Jones was the first African American woman to represent Ohio in the U.S. House of Representatives. She was serving her fifth term when she died in August 2008.

Apply for the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Award through CampusGroups.

If you have any students you would like to nominate for this award, send names to Leah Shaw, les130@case.edu; nominees will be encouraged to apply.
