STEM Faculty Recruitment and Retention Journal Club meeting

Members of the Case Western Reserve University community, particularly faculty in STEM-related fields, are invited to join the next meeting of the STEM Faculty Recruitment and Retention Journal Club Wednesday, Dec. 16, from noon to 1 p.m.

The meeting will be led by Stephen E. Haynesworth, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, associate professor in the Department of Biology and director of the Emerging Scholars Program. Register for the meeting.

Pathway 4 of the university’s strategic plan, Think Big, seeks to increase recruitment and retention of historically disenfranchised populations in STEM disciplines. These monthly meetings will focus on readings about best practices and research on faculty recruitment and mentoring, as well as other related topics that will engage attendees in discussion about the reading.

Attendees should review “Survey of Checkpoints Along the Pathway to Diverse Biomedical Research Faculty” (PDF) and come prepared to discuss the reading.
