Now in its second year, the Case Western Reserve University STEM Faculty Recruitment and Retention Journal Club is focused on increasing recruitment and retention of historically disenfranchised populations in STEM disciplines.
The second meeting of the spring 2022 semester will take place Thursday, Feb. 10, from noon to 1 p.m. The meeting will be hosted by Emily (Cam) Conlan, PhD candidate in biomedical engineering, member of the Case Advancement Fellows and professional development chair of the Underrepresented Minorities in Biomedical Engineering (UMBE).
Attendees will discuss readings centered on microaggressions towards women in STEM.
Register for the meeting and access to the readings.
The Case Western Reserve University STEM Faculty Recruitment and Retention Journal Club is aligned with Pathway 4 of the university’s strategic plan, Think Big. These monthly meetings will focus on readings about best practices and research on faculty recruitment and mentoring, as well as other related topics that will engage attendees in discussion about the reading.
While geared toward faculty in STEM-specific fields, the events are open to everyone at Case Western Reserve. To learn more, see recordings from past meetings, or register for future meetings, visit the STEM Faculty Recruitment and Retention Journal Club webpage.
