In the world of digital transformation, a digital twin is a digital representation of a physical asset, object, or even manufacturing process. Increasingly, companies are beginning to use digital twins to predict individual users and their behaviors. Combined with artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things, digital twins hold enormous potential for digital innovations of traditional firms in all sectors. At the same time, there are many misunderstandings on exactly what digital twins are and what they can do.
At the xLab Quarterly Roundtable, speakers will discuss what digital twins are, where they are going, and how firms can leverage them with other digital technologies for digital transformation.
The speakers will discuss specific solutions and case studies of using digital twins.
The speakers are:
- Stefan Seidel, professor and chair of information systems and innovation at the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein; and
- Youngjin Yoo, the Elizabeth M. and William C. Treuhaft Professor in Entrepreneurship, professor of information systems at Weatherhead School of Management, and founder and faculty director of xLab.
The meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 2 p.m. Register to attend.
