Solstice, screen-sharing technology that allows students and instructors to share content from their own devices to the main classroom display, will be added to several classrooms throughout fall 2019.
Solstice can be helpful for instructors that would like to move through the classroom while teaching and for students who are doing presentations in class. It’s also a way for instructors to add student collaboration to lectures without having to spend time contending with space constraints and having students come to the front of the room and physically connect to the display.
Solstice is currently available in:
- Rockefeller Building, Room 301;
- Thwing Center, Room 101;
- Nord Hall, Room 204;
- Nord Hall, Room 356;
- Bingham Building, Room 240; and
- Clapp Hall, Room 305.
To learn more about Solstice’s capabilities and possible applications in class, University Technology ([U]Tech) will host Spotlight on Solstice Friday, Oct. 11, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Bingham Building, Room 240. During the event, members of the Teaching and Learning Technologies team will demonstrate Solstice in a hands-on workshop. Attendees should bring a mobile device or laptop to fully participate.
