Join Damon S. Tweedy, author of Black Man, White Coat, for the Alan and Karen Krause College Mental Health Lecture. His talk, titled “Reflections on Race, Medicine and Psychiatry in the Year of COVID-19 and Nationwide Protests,” will explore the roles of medical education and the health care system in perpetuating health disparities.

He also will examine added challenges faced by Black physicians with academic medicine and discuss the strategies to mitigate the impact of racism and bias within the teaching hospital setting. 

Tweedy is an associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke University School of Medicine.
