University Health and Counseling Services will host Kevin Hines for an event titled “Cracked Not Broken” Oct. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Frank N. and Jocelyne K. Linsalata Alumni Center. Hines is a brain/mental health advocate, award-winning global speaker, bestselling author and documentary filmmaker who reaches audiences with his story of an unlikely survival and his strong will to live.

Two years after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Hines attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. He is one of only 34 to survive the fall, and the only one to regain full physical mobility. He is the only Golden Gate Bridge jump survivor who is actively spreading the message of living mentally healthy.

Today, Hines dedicates his life to saving lives by sharing his art of living mentally well. He is considered one of the most respected and admired voices of lived experience. Read more about Hines.

This event is open to all Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland Institute of Music undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, as well as faculty and staff. Community members are welcome to attend.
