The CWRU National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and CWRU Health & Wellness Council (HWC) will host Joshua Rivedal, a college mental health/suicide prevention specialist, author and writer for The Huffington Post, to speak about his experience with mental health and suicide.
In this webinar, Rivedal will talk about how his father’s suicide has impacted him and how he has dealt with it; his depression; why people think about suicide, risk factors, signs and symptoms; and how to talk to someone experiencing suicidal ideation.
There will be a Q&A session at the end of the event for students to ask Rivedal their questions. This event will offer students a strong message of hope and healing as well as advice on how to manage one’s fears and anxieties during this difficult semester. Anyone seeking advice and a new perspective on mental health are encouraged to attend. There is no fee to attend this event; it will be held over Zoom Saturday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. (EST).
