The Department of Neurosciences invites community members to attend the next Frontiers in Biological Sciences Lecture Series with speaker Leslie B. Vosshall, PhD, Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 4 p.m. ET via Zoom.
Leslie B. Vosshall, PhD, an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Robin Chemers Neustein Professor at The Rockefeller University in New York, NY, will present a lecture entitled “Neurobiology of the World’s Most Dangerous Animal.”
Vosshall will explore the molecular neurobiology of mosquitoes and their parasitic behavior during her lecture. Drawing from her research contributions to “Sensory discrimination of blood and floral nectar by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes,” she will discuss the role of genome editing as a tool for understanding the feeding behaviors and sensory cue perception of female mosquitoes.
All members of the Case Western Reserve University are invited to attend the lecture. Contact kellyfs@case.edu for access to the meeting link.
