Case Western Reserve University invites the campus and greater Cleveland communities to attend fall convocation Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 4:45 p.m. at Severance Hall. The event will launch the new academic year, celebrate the newest Distinguished University Professors, and feature Paige Williams as she discuses her work The Dinosaur Artist as the 2019 Elaine G. Hadden Distinguished Visiting Author and keynote speaker.
This event is free and open to the public, but online registration is requested.
A complimentary reception and book signing at the Tinkham Veale University Center will follow fall convocation.
About Williams
Paige Williams is a staff writer at The New Yorker, and a previous winner of the National Magazine Award for feature writing. Her debut book, The Dinosaur Artist: Obsession, Betrayal, and the Quest for Earth’s Ultimate Trophy, was chosen as Case Western Reserve University’s 2019 common reading. This true tale of a dinosaur skeleton is woven with human and legal drama, ethical questions and compromises, paleontology and science. Incoming students will receive a copy of the book this summer and will participate in related programming during their inaugural semester at the university.
