“Embracing an Ecosocial Worldview: Examples of Community Engaged Teaching, Practice, and Research for Environmental Health Equity” OctoberOct 26 2021 09:00am - 10:00am

The Swetland Center for Environmental Health invites members of the community to join attend a seminar titled “Embracing an Ecosocial Worldview: Examples of Community Engaged Teaching, Practice, and Research for Environmental Health Equity.”

Shanondora Billiot and Meredith C.F. Powers will present this lecture Oct. 26 from 9 to 10 a.m. via Zoom.

Billiot and Powers will address the history of environmental, economic and racial injustices, and highlight community-engaged research and practice examples of working toward environmental health equity, particularly in Indigenous and other marginalized populations.

After their seminar, they will host a training consultation where they will help attendees explore current and historical environmental concerns and reflect on how to embrace and apply a more ecosocial worldview in the context of research, teaching, practice and policy change.

This event is part of a free monthly learning opportunity hosted by the Swetland Center and will be held virtually via Zoom.
