The CWRU Food Institute Seed Sprint project aims to foster co-curricular collaborations related to the study of the global food system. The institute will address challenges of the 21st century, including projected food system disruptions due to climate change and continuing food inequality issues, through innovative research, pedagogies and campus activism. This initiative also aims to strengthen ongoing campus efforts to reduce, compost and divert food waste, bolster the local food system by working with farmers in the area, and build connections with surrounding communities to lead food system transformation in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend a retreat Saturday, April 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Squire Valleevue and Valley Ridge Farms (37125 Fairmount Blvd., Hunting Valley), Manor House. Attendees will receive free lunch and walk around the farm while they discuss the initiative.

Those unable to attend who would like to stay informed on other meetings planned as part of the seed sprint can contact narcisz.fejes@case.edu.
