Staged reading of The Liar

Join Case Western Reserve University Department of Theater for a free online presentation of its first show of the season: a staged reading of The Liar.

David Ives’ ‘translaptation’ of this 17th century comedy blends Elizabethan-style verse and modern language, relishing in its own rhyming word games, ridiculous plot contrivances and occasional fourth-wall breakages.

A master who can’t help lying, a servant who can’t help speaking the truth and a series of mistaken identities drive the story in this radio-play style reading.
