Case Western Reserve University students are invited to join the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent for World Benefit for an information session about the spring 2024 iteration of the Business for World Benefit Clinic program. The information session will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m. in Peter B. Lewis Building, Room 03.
This program is designed to connect students to aspiring B Corporations. B Corp Certification is a certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. Companies are matched with a team of students to go through the assessment process and identify strategies they can take to improve their B Impact Assessment (BIA) scores. Students will gain hands-on consulting experience and the chance to learn about social and environmental impact assessment and sustainable business models.
Participants have shared the following insights about the program:
- “I learned a lot about what it takes to get a growing small business out of the gate.” – MBA student
- “Most exciting part of my journey was the ability to apply accounting and financial concepts to sort the financial data and using QuickBooks.” – MEM student
- “I found understanding the company’s business model and how that would interact with our pursuit of the B certification interesting.” – BA student
- “I have learned the practicality of starting a B Corp assessment.” – BA student
Attendees at the information session will learn more about the companies participating this year. Attending the information session does not commit students to the program. Students from all majors and programs are welcome to attend and apply to participate in the program.
