Members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to an evening of music performed by the CWRU Historical Performance Practice chamber and vocal ensembles. Titled “Sprezzatura,” this performance will be held Sunday, Oct. 13, at 4 p.m. in Harkness Chapel.
Highlighting the sprezzatura style—where intricate music is played with effortless grace—this concert showcases a blend of technical mastery and expressive freedom, bringing timeless works to life. Featured pieces include “Panis Angelicus” and “Mater Hierusalem” by Carlo G, “Concerti Ecclesiastici” by Cima, “Sonata a tre violini” by Fontana, and “Canzonas” by Frescobaldi.
The Baroque Chamber Ensembles will perform under Julie Andrijeski and the Baroque Vocal Ensembles will be directed by Peter Bennett.
