Spoken English Language Programs to offer UNIV 402C this spring

Spoken English Language Programs (SELP) in the School of Graduate Studies is offering UNIV 402C – Presentation Skills, an in-person, semester-long course during spring semester open to all international and/or non-native English speaking postdocs and graduate students.

This is a free, non-credit course designed to improve presentation skills, overall English language proficiency, and U.S. academic and social/culture comprehension.

The course will have two sections. Each section will meet on both Tuesdays and Thursdays from Jan. 23 through April 23, with one offered 2:30–3:45 p.m. and the other 4–5:15 p.m. in Tomlinson 239. Enrollment in the class sections will be limited to 12 people.

If you would like to enroll in the course or have questions about it, please email Eric Moore, director of Spoken English Language Programs, at eric.moore2@case.edu. The class requires instructor permission to enroll.

Priority enrollment for the class will first go to graduate students who are teaching assistants, then all graduate students and postdocs. If there is still space available, spouses or partners of CWRU graduate students and postdocs will have the chance to enroll.

The course will also be offered in the summer and fall this year.
